Dup\u0103 aceea, cu ajutorul unor senzori termici speciali, participan\u021bilor li s-a produs durere, iar activitatea creierului a fost \u00eenregistrat\u0103 pe un RMN. Oamenii de \u0219tiin\u021b\u0103 au ajuns la concluzia c\u0103 medita\u021bia reduce activitatea centrelor creierului asociate cu durerea, iar o or\u0103 de practic\u0103 poate reduce severitatea durerii cu 40%. Cu toate acestea, analgezicele populare precum morfina reduc aceast\u0103 rat\u0103 cu doar 25%.
